Some Big News & Back To {Old} School

Don't you just love September?  It's almost as exciting as the New Year in my books, and we have some exciting stuff planned for Switch this year that we can't wait to share with you!  The first step is that Fernando has officially come on board as the first, full-time employee.  Yippee!

If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you may have seen the post about it yesterday.  Either way, please welcome our new Project Manager and Upholsterer Extraordinaire {yes, that is his actual title}, Fernando!  He has been upholstering for over 34 years now, and loves every minute of it, unless he's upholstering with silk, then he's not a happy camper.  We're thrilled to have Fernando as part of the Switch team, and are sure you'll be happy with him too - Lord knows he can upholster circles around me {Staci}, so chances are you'll be getting your pieces back faster than before {ha}!

And now, to show you some pieces that had us getting back to {old} school at Switch Studio...

This sofa came in looking a little worse for wear, and a lot cushionless - But a couple of weeks later it's looking modern, comfortable, and oh so very cool!  It's amazing what a little TLC and some upholstering can do, no?

This little chair was pretty dated, and it's owners wanted to modernize it with some fun fabric.  We think that was accomplished!  We reupholstered it using Dwell Studio's Vintage Blossom in the colour Dove, by Robert Allen to spruce this chair up!  Don't you adore it?

This retro chair was updated using Dwell Studio fabric from Robert Allen too, and it maybe one of my favourite pieces ever done here at Switch Studio!  We chose the Gate print in the colour Brindle, and it turned out perfectly!

If you have an old school piece of retro furniture that needs a little oomph, let us know, we'd be happy to help with your upholstery makeover - Besides, we need lots of things to keep Fernando busy now.  Have a wonderful back to school season, and stay tuned for more exciting news to come!
